How You Value Yourself?

The value you perceive about yourself is a reflection on what you are doing and how much will you be reward. If you think you are just a technician, you will be reward as a technician. If you think you are an expert, you will be reward as an expert. The ceiling is limited by your own self belief. For many peoples, they always want to have the promotion or pay raise, but in their mind, they think they are still a technician because they carry a title call technician. If you think you are an average technician, you will forever be average.

You Know More Than What You Know

For technician, they thought they just a technician. In most case, they actually had more knowledge that they can apply to the job. Think again. What additional skills you know about your field which you can apply to the job. I’m sure you can identify one or two. Next, let your immediate manager know about what you know and say you willing to help out when are necessary. Your boss will be more than happy to hear about it. This is because they know, now they really have backup for an existing people and this is reduce operation downtime when the existing people is not available during emergency.

Your Contribution to the Team is Higher than What You Think

Many department team member thinks that the success of their department is because of they have a great leader that can drive the team. A leader without a supportive team member had little function in a company. In the worst case, it brings more trouble than solution. If you are a great follower and team player, you should thanks yourself by adding more value and make the team a great success.  My experiences tell me that it is not easy to find great team player in existing organization if team work had not been part of the culture before.

Your Value To The Organization is Higher Than What You Think

You had done your job well. You willing to help others in their job. You willing to follow the leader. Great! Can you imagine what will happen if your company is build by a group of people like you? The company will grow tremendously. And you able to earn your promotion and pay raise.

Your life and career success are determined by how you value yourself.  Don’t underestimate value to the organization. Keep going and do the right thing for the organization. You will have the bright future in the company.
