If you know your company has some major initiative that may transform the organization, put your 101% energy and efforts into it. If it success, you will be part of the winning team. Even if it fails, your company knows you had put in enough effort to get it done. Neither side, you still is the winner. If there is no such initiative, suggest one or discuss with your boss to develop the plan. Your boss will be very happy to listen to your proposal.
